Jack Howard-Potter Radio Interview from 2013
About a year ago I did a very fun interview with an old college friend Jesse Shafer and his partner Greg McHale for their New York centric website On the Real. They approached me about a series they were doing uncovering interesting new yorkers telling their stories. I had done many interviews for television but this was to be an in-depth podcast interview to discuss my life as an artist. I was really excited to be involved and also interested to hear what I would say. During the course of the interview you can hear me discuss growing up in NYC, the artists that inspired me, my process for building a 30-foot tall sculpture and why I choose steel as my medium.
In revisiting this interview I did a full year ago I was pleased to hear that the things I said still hold true and are in fact truths about me and my career that are lasting. In addition to the great interview I was also photographed by Craig LaCourt in my studio. Craig has a dark and intense style to his work and he did a great job telling the story of my craft through this picture.
So take a half-hour and listen to me discus my work and hometown.
Enjoy!
