Installation – Sculptures Appear & Disappear
Ever wonder how sculptures appear and disappear seemingly by magic? Well take a look behind the curtain and watch this time lapse video of the installation of a show I did back in May as part of the Long Island City Arts Open.
You will get a glimpse into how the works go together modularly to facilitate transporting them without compromising their overall look and function.
As you can also see, creating sculpture this way does add the problem of needing more than one person to do the installation, but I managed to grab a few friends who were happy to help.
So the next time you walk by a work of art and wonder how it got there, think of this video and see it takes patience, strengthen in numbers and precision.
